  • Skype
    • skype call the skype user "freeswitch_conf_call" (max 20 concurrent users)
    • Use Call->Show Dialpad to unmute pressing "0"(zero) on Skype's keypad
  • Flash (in-browser VoIP RTMP client)

Note: When you join you will initially be muted and need to press 0 if you wish to speak (this reduces background noise on the conference).

At some times muting may be moderated (eg presentations). Pressing 0 will put you in a queue and you will be unmuted when it's your turn to speak.

Be sure to be logged into #freeswitch on irc.freenode.net! There are frequently related comments during the conference.

What are the Beeps in the conference? One Beep - someone has joined, two beeps - someone has left.

Please add agenda items as needed. If you have a question you'd like to ask then edit the Items Needing Discussion section below. Be sure to put your name/nick on your question.

News, Notes, & Miscellaneous Fun Stuff

  • New FS Book Update
  • Sounds updates
    • New fr-ca sounds version 1.0.18
    • older sounds on files.freeswitch.org have been archived into releases/sounds/ if you still need to access them
    • New en-us sounds version 1.0.21

Items Needing Discussion

  • Sub-communities. DRK has suggested that having "sub-communities" may give people a way to more quickly and easily interact with those who share the same interests, e.g. PHPCommunity.FreeSWITCH.org or WindowsCommunity.FreeSWITCH.org.
    • Discussion... what are your thoughts?
  • Adopt-a-module. Brian suggested this a number of years ago and the time may be right. What we need are people who are skilled in a certain area, perhaps with mod_lcr or mod_limit and who can "adopt" the module. They would be responsible for keeping the wiki updated, which means watching Git for new commits. They'd also be first to answer questions on the ML that pertain to the adopted module.
    • Discussion... what are your thoughts?

Featured Presentation

  • How to handle vague, overly broad, inappropriate, or just plain wrong questions on the ML
    • We will be crowd-sourcing some content to put up on the wiki
    • We will have some *NICE* information to help people figure out how to ask better questions
    • We will practice being *NICE* to the people who don't ask good questions (at first)
    • We will resist the urge to flame them into oblivion, until such time they deserve said flamage
