August 15, 2007 (Pittsburgh, PA) Cepstral LLC is proud to announce the first open source MRCP library, OpenMRCP. Cepstral is a commercial Text-to-Speech (TTS) company, and wishes to donate OpenMRCP to the community. Cepstral hopes a standards based open source MRCP stack will accelerate the development of speech applications in the marketplace. MRCP is widely adopted by many of the largest telephony platforms and speech technology vendors. However, from its 2002 inception until now...example MRCP source code has never been published. Cepstral understands the challenges small companies face to become standards compliant. Cepstral sponsored OpenMRCP to lower connectivity barriers and help developers get on with the task of building meaningful applications.

Cepstral gives thanks all those who have worked to make this project possible, and to those who will improve it and ensure its success.
