Recap of last week
The following items were discussed last week. Included are the to-do items assigned and any updates on their progress.
Documentation
Friday we discussed several topics related to documentation, both from a user level and a developer level. From the user level one big topic was "best practices" - Here's the index page we created:
Best_Practices
As far as developer documentation is concerned we are asking several community members for assistance. MikeJ made a good point: if a new dev wants to create a FreeSWITCH module then it would be good to have two layers of documentation. First, we need the introduction to creating a module. (This page is a previous attempt at doing this; probably needs a lot of attention.) Second, we need to have extensive Doxygen markup on representative modules:
- Application
- Dialplan
- XML
- Endpoint
Michael Collins has contacted the following users to ask for their help in these two areas: Andrew Thompson (Vagabond), Giovanni Maruzzelli (gmaruzz), Rupa Shomaker (rupa), Leon de Rooij (ledr), and Mathieu Rene (Math). We will update the community on each Friday's code.
- UPDATE: Moises Silva, awesome dude, independently added a codec module skeleton! Check it out: [1]
Items Needing Documentation
- Need best practices from community
- Please submit your solutions on the Best_Practices page
- We need people with mod_fifo experience to review the mod_fifo documentation and beef it up, add to it, describe call flow scenarios, etc.
